Leonard
Chan

Leonard Chan, embarrassingly and humbly named one of "OC's 100 Most Influential" in 2014 by the Orange County Register, has considerable experience in the restaurant industry — beginning with seeing his first restaurant in 2009 from light bulb to swinging open its doors.

Born in Anaheim and raised in Irvine, Leonard has eaten and drank his way through Southern California's restaurant and bar scene. In his role as "CEO-ish" of The Alchemists, Leonard oversees the group's restaurant concept creation and integration — which has made him a key part of some of the most successful development projects in Orange County including the Anaheim Packing House, the OC Mix, SOCO, Historic Main Street in Garden Grove, South Coast Plaza, Downtown Santa Ana, and Downtown Long Beach.

Leonard's restaurant concepts include Cal Shabu (originally conceived by Wayne Atchley), The Iron Press, Shuck Oyster Bar, The Blind Rabbit, Rolling Boil, Barcode, Stowaway Tiki, Belly of the Beast, The Lost Inferno, Momoku No Usagi, Cozy Pine, and Midnight Oil. Along with the current concepts, The Alchemists are opening Mura Yakiniku and Shabu Shabu, The Lagoon, and a hidden Chinese-focused bar.

In addition to The Alchemists' own projects, Leonard has consulted on food halls including Union Market (Tustin and Mission Viejo), McFadden Public Market (Downtown Santa Ana), Collage at South Coast Plaza, and Cravings Eastvale.

Planning his travels around where to dine, Leonard draws inspiration from every aspect of his experiences. With an obsession on design, he creates fun, delicious, and welcoming spaces with a "hugs over handshakes" culture.

At Myriad, Leonard is the lead point of contact for leasing, fielding questions on availability, concept fit, build-out, and operations — and personally vetting each prospective tenant.

Cum Laude, B.A. Economics, University of California at Irvine, 1997.

Eric Lee represents DC Universal — the property owner and developer behind Myriad Public Market. Once Leonard has confirmed concept fit, Eric is your point of contact for the building itself: TI allowances, build-out timelines, lease terms, and pre-opening operations.

DC Universal brings deep experience in mixed-use hospitality development across Southern California, with a portfolio that emphasizes long-term operator relationships over short-term occupancy. Eric also handles general questions on leasing alongside Leonard, so you can reach either of us via the inquiry form.
